Get Published on Amazon – Push Notifications and Maps

Push notifications are one of your app’s most efficient marketing tools—learn how to use them to send important updates to your customers.

It's more than an app.
It's the key to a successful business.

Let’s get noticed! In this lesson we’ll learn how to use Como’s Notifications tab in order to send Push Notifications to your app users. Push Notifications allow you to send a simple message to the users of your app for a specific targeted message, such as special promotional sales, the arrival of a new product, a change in schedule for an event, new upcoming events, the creation of a new coupon or loyalty card, or just about anything you can think of that would get customers to pay attention to your business.

In your Como Dashboard click on Notifications, and you’ll come to the Send Push Notifications area. All you have to do is type your message here, click the Send button, and your notification will be sent to every single one of your app’s users. If you want to get a little more targeted with who you send it to, click on Target Location, and you’ll have a whole bunch of options that open up for you. You can target locations by country, by location, you can even choose a radius around your location, and you can also set specific coordinates for a location that you want to use. And you can set a radius around that location as well. Once you’ve decided whether you want your Push Notification to be global or highly localized, click the Send button and your Push Notification will be sent to all the users of your app within that specified location or simply all the users of your app.

Why would you use Push Notifications? Push Notifications are a gentle reminder to those who may not have opened your app in a while to pay attention to something special in your business. You don’t want to send a Push Notification every day, certainly not several every day, but every once in a while—maybe once a week, once every two weeks, or once a month—let your customer know that you have something of value to share with them and send them a Push Notification. They can decide whether or not to act on that notification; but if you had never sent it in the first place, they wouldn’t know about your big promotion, the change of event time, or the arrival of your next great product.
